short term ministry finances

Short term missionaries serving at TMCC cover their own expenses, noted below with approximate US$ figures in parentheses. These figures are still under discussion and may change.

Pre-arrival and personal costs:

• round trip airfare ($1500-2000)
• international health insurance ($300 per month)
• various expenses in Japan for personal travel, shopping, etc. ($variable)

Living costs in Tokyo, coming to US$2000 per month per person:

• housing, to be arranged by TMCC ($800 per month per person ($200 per week))
• utilities ($200 per month per person ($50 per week))
• food ($600 per month / $150 per week)
• in country travel for ministry ($400 per month / $100 per week)

TMCC offers pick up at Tokyo Narita airport, housing arrangements, and orientation to ministry and life in Japan. Most importantly, TMCC provides help, oversight, and encouragement throughout the short term ministry (including sightseeing hints!).

Preference will be given to short term missionaries who come to TMCC through the Evangelical Free Church of Canada Mission (EFCCM).
